Well I've just won twenty bucks,in a bet with my neighbour,that before Bush left office he would reverse his daddy-ohs ban on off-shore drilling.
More's the pity because I would rather have LOST the bet.
So with Bush in his last few months of office-HALLELUJAH- he is not only trying to rob the Iraqis blind of their controlling percentage of THEIR OIL,but he's also trying to PAD THE CORRUPT OIL-BOYS pockets EVEN MORE by drilling off OUR shores,where the supply,ten years worth at max, at our present consumptive rates,will take TEN YEARS to get INTO our tanks and cost billions more to put it there,and while they drill,drill,drill, our environment,wildlife,shoreline and air-quality will be on the KILL,KILL,KILL LIST. PATHETIC!
We know Bush,Cheney etc couldn't give a s*** about the people of America,or any other nation ACTUALLY! SO, his money-grabbing lift of this daddy's ban on OSD is par for HIS filthy course.
BUT,the BIG question in MY MIND is,DOES OUR CONGRESS care even LESS than him,about us and our nation by agreeing/voting to lift the ban TOO?
Bush blindly thinks for Bush(and oil and profit).That we know already,to the tune of 7,000 +++ American lives(war and 9/11) and COUNTLESS innocent foreign lives lost.
Now,he wants to jeopardize American ecology and environment FOR MORE personal profit by OSD, and poking holes in the ANWR area.
Does Congress blindly,and weakly,follow Bush and Cheney,or is their loyalty to the people of this nation,its NATIONAL WEALTH and health overall?
Bush's lift on the ban of drilling,IS POINTLESS and a mere bandaid on a severly severed artery.It does not BENEFIT the American nation as a whole for the long run!
And drilling off our SHORES WILL NOT REDUCE THE PRICE OF OIL!
If we don't change our ADDICTION to fossil fuels,either way,the oil-boys win and WE THE ORDINARY FOLKS,and our nation,LOSE! Do we want a quick fix,NOW,on our addiction?
Or do we want a new healthier future for our kids and grandchildren?
Congress should be REMEMBERING WHO and WHAT THEY SHOULD BE LOYAL TO.
I'll be watching every vote they cast on this matter and IT WILL EFFECT HOW I cast my vote in the election.
So Congress,are you with the people and their future?
Or,are you scared of,and kow-towing to a President(and V.P.)who doesn't give a s*** about the people,just himself,money and power?
YOUR VOTES WILL TELL US! DON'T LET US DOWN....AGAIN!
Oh,and I told my neighbour to keep the 20 bucks and put it in his gas tank!
