In this special Link TV presentation, director Stephen Olsson is joined by Charles Gibbs, Executive Director of the United Religions Initiative, to talk about the power of sacred music in this sneak preview of his film Sound of the Soul and series Global Spirit.

This award-winning documentary is a glorious homage to the remarkable Fes Festival of World Sacred Music in Morocco, which brings together a unique array of musicians from Muslim, Christian and Jewish backgrounds - all connected through their artistry by profound expressions of love and longing. In a world increasingly polarized by religious conflicts and fundamentalist forces, Sound of the Soul is a timely and profound experiential journey, reverberating with unity, understanding and most of all, hope. Performers include Katia Guerreiro (Portugal), Farida Mahwash & the Kabul Ensemble (Afghanistan), Kudsi Erguner Ensemble (Turkey), Dimi Mint Abba (Mauritania), Malhoun (Morocco) and many others.

Global Spirit (preview)
Global Spirit is a new Link TV television series that explores the integral relationship between mind and spirit, science and metaphysics, and mental and physical well-being.

For people everywhere and throughout history, the search for meaning - for something greater than ourselves - has taken the form of a “spiritual quest”. The spiritual quest is often expressed as a desire to reach “God,” or attain “spiritual enlightenment”. Using an engaging mixture of documentary and narrative film segments, as well as intimate conversations, Global Spirit lays out for viewers some of the universal, cross-cultural aspects of the spiritual search, and addresses some of the perennial human questions.

In coming episodes Global Spirit will also touch on the themes of meditation, forgiveness, pilgrimage, music, sound and the sacred, spiritual cults and communities.
